Many of you received a letter a few weeks ago with information on my financial needs as the 2011 year comes to a close. I enclosed an envelope that is addressed to my parents address in Ohio for you to send that back to me. Unfortunately some of you may have had that envelope returned as there was an issue with the post office. I think that has been corrected and that envelope will now still work. If it does not you can send it to my address is Florida:

I’m ENGAGED!!!!!

On October 15th, Kevin Dennis asked me to marry him!!!! The day began with me thinking I was just going to breakfast with him… little did I know how that day would unfold! Kevin took me on a journey through some of our most memorable spots in Orlando that concluded at the beach where he proposed. I’m still amazed at the journey God has led us on to bring us to this place to begin to plan for a marriage together. God has been so faithful to lead and direct us and we are excited to continue to watch Him do that as we head towards marriage and a life together of following Him!

Done, reported and first day full of sweetness!

Yes, this week the Lord provided the rest of my support that was needed to enable me to start working full-time with my new team at Walt Disney World. While, I’m continually raising support as people come on and off my team throughout the year it is amazing to be in a spot where I can fully focus my attention on the students and interns at Walt Disney World and I can begin to train the 3 new staff women on our team. My first full day was Tuesday which happened to be our Worldwide Day of Prayer. We spent the day touring Epcot and stopping at the countries along the way to pray for those countries and our influence their. The day was long and rich, but the Lord had even more treasures prepared for the evening. Kevin and I just started to lead a small group with the Church we attend. It was our first small group and 1 woman showed up who had attended our church for the first time that previous Sunday. As we talked, it became evident that she was potentially new in her faith or may not know the Lord. Kevin and I decided to walk through the gospel with her for our first study and…. She trusted Christ! She said she was so excited to receive Him and begin this new journey. What a way to finish my first full day with the team, to see this woman enter into a relationship with Jesus. I’m so excited to get more time with her and to watch how the Lord continues to grow and develop her!

$60 in monthly support left to raise!!

The Lord continues to amaze and surprise me with His provision! I’m so excited to be just $60 in monthly support away from getting to join my new team full-time! Today at church I got to meet 2 Australians and 1 New Zealander who are a part of the Disney college program, I’m so looking forward to spending time with these interns! Keep praying that the Lord would bring in the rest of my support this week!

So close to my support goal!!

As of today I have just $100 in monthly support left to raise! Praise the Lord… I’m getting so excited to join the team as they are already in full swing working with the interns at Walt Disney World. I’m still praying that by midnight tonight I’ll be done! But, trusting that the Lord’s timing for His provision is perfect. Would you pray with me though that this would be the week I get to begin serving with my new team!

Speaking of which, here’s a picture of my new team! This was our first team pic, taken while I was still living in Ohio and skyping in on some of the planning meetings that were going on, kinda funny!

$130 in monthly support left to raise!

I entered the summer needing to raise an additional $900 in monthly support before I was able to report to my newest assignment… Walt Disney World! God has been so faithful to provide in amazing ways and as of today, I have just $130 in monthly support left to raise. I’m currently in Orlando, adjusting to life here, working on support and getting more and more excited about joining the team that is already ministering to the college students at Walt Disney World. There are 6 of us on the team, 4 singles and 1 couple. Along with meeting with students, I also am going to have the priviledge of meeting with each of the staff women on the team (Adrienne, Rose and Cate) and training them in ministry skills. I’m so excited to come alongside them as they grow in their own walks with the Lord as well as how to invest their lives into others. Would you pray with me that the Lord would provide the additional support I need in the next week so that I can report to this new assignment and these women can have a trainer!

From a spirit of stress to a spirit of praise…

I have to admit that this last week I have been feeling the stress of preparing to move to Florida (figuring out how to get my stuff down there as I’ve never moved cross country!), getting good time with my family and being faithful to continue to raise support and trusting the Lord for His provision. I sat down tonight to just meet with the Lord and lay out all the emotions that have been swirling around in my heart this week. Everything from excitement at what’s ahead, sadness of leaving, fatigue from everything that has been packed into this summer, anxiety and and fear of what’s ahead in the midst of the excitement, all the emotions that come with transitioning to a new job location, a new team, and a new apartment to move into. (I hope writing all these things out isn’t making you stressed out too!) Somehow as I wrote all of these things down in my journal, and more, I realized that I had been spending so much time dwelling on the emotions of my circumstances and all I was trusting God to still do, I hadn’t really been thinking of all the Lord had done this summer.

So, I found myself back in Psalm 145, where I’ve been for several weeks. It’s amazing when you read a passage nearly everyday how the Lord sinks new and old truths into your heart even deeper. As I surrendered all these emotions to the Lord I turned to read Psalm 145:5 “On the glorious splendor of your majesty, and on your wonderous works, I will meditate.” I began to list out all of the “wonderous works” I had seen the Lord do this summer, everything from getting to see first hand my little nephew take some of his first steps, to rich and significant conversations with friends, to seeing the Lord provide over $500 in monthly support in a short amount of time. I took up 4 pages of praise of what the Lord had done. It put these next few weeks in perspective, that I can trust Him for even more wonderous works in the coming days and watch Him lead in the things that I’m prone to want to take control of and try to figure out how to do on my own. I want to commit to spending more time meditating on the great things that He has done… so that the “Fame of His abundant goodness would pour forth from me” (Psalm 145:7 interpreted by me)

All that to say, on Wednesday I’m beginning my drive back to Orlando, making some support trips along the way as I trust the Lord to bring in the last $400 in monthly support that I need by the time I get to Orlando and the $3500 in one time for my moving and re-locating costs (my stuff will still in Ohio until I see that come in). Please be praying that the Lord would not only provide the rest of my financial needs this summer but that He would renew my energy spiritually, physically and emotionally in the midst of the “good-byes” and the “welcomes” and the full schedule that’s a head. Pray that I would meet with the Lord consistently and rely on Him in my relationships and in the midst of the life details that need to get done!
